we just had 3 babies hatch out today and I'd love to figure out the sex, so I know whether or not to handle them... also any advise on baby chicks being raised by mum would be helpful!

Agreed. A Sex-Link can't be created by using any kind sex-linked bird (or dominant white bird, for that matter). The white bird of the cross was probably dominant white, so the offspring will grow up to be white, unless the bird was recessive.You won't be able to sex them by color.
