Any artists out there?

I got a job. :(

I'm working at a high end luxury jewelry store as a goldsmith and designer. I hope this isn't a mistake... I'm going to try and do engraving and goldsmith for someone at the same time. I'm stressing out about this lol.

So anyways here's a thing I'm engraving....View attachment 3359158
You should have no problem killing this work. You've got this!

Have faith in yourself, you'll do amazingly, and good luck with the new job! 💙

I'm sorry to hear. Art block sucks big time. I would say try doodling for fun, use a pen with satisfying ink and draw shapes or spirals or whatever, just to get into the mood. But remember it's OK to take breaks too!

On another note, I'm going to be away visiting family for the next week or two so probably not much art (I have done art in the meantime I just have been either lazy or shy about posting it lol). Though I will bring my supplies with me so who knows.
I've tried doodling and filling a sheet with forms and practice things (which usually helps), but I just sit there bored, no idea what to draw, no joy with it. You know? :(
I'm thinking maybe take a break until next year, then see if I still don't have inspiration or motivation for it, then see where I go from there.

This is beautiful. 💙
How long does something like that usually take to engrave?

I stopped getting notified from this thread and forgot about it. Here is a new sculpture that I made today:
What are all your thoughts on it? Any suggestions to help me improve my sculpting capabilities? This is my first time sculpting in years, this is by far the best one I’ve made yet. I saw in multiple videos people using wire frames, so I used bent paper clips. It is a picture of before I baked and painted it and a video of after it was baked, painted, and before it was glued(because it broke and was glued to the base).

This is adorable! I love the way you painted the feathers, too. 😭💙

My suggestion would be to look at how a chicken's knee bends/attaches to the body, and maybe larger feet? I feel like that would help keep it balanced.

Overall though, it has nice textures, well painted, and you look like you've sealed it too. 🙌

Thanks for the suggestions. I did use a reference photo of one of my Jersey Giants, but couldn’t get the wire to bend right lol. Now that you mention it, I do agree about the size of the feet. Thanks again for the input.

I've got art block as well. I really want to use the new pens I got but nothing is interesting enough to draw. SIGH! I'm sure we'll feel inspired soon!

It unsubbed me again, so I'm posting to resub.

Merry Christmas everyone, and Happy Holidays to anyone who doesn't celebrate. 🎄

Also, I'm in a really bad art block. I haven't been able to draw anything since early November, due to a specific incident. Has anyone got any advice for getting through it?
If you’re on Instagram or tiktok, something that helps me during artblock is to find some of the audios and draw things to them. It doesn’t require much effort, just rough character doodles, but it can be useful (at least for me) to have an idea of what to do instead of trying to think of things myself.
I prefer to use the more “crack” audios, but serious ones could work too.

Cute! What kind of material did you use? Polymer?

I actually just remembered something that might help!

There's a website called SketchFab, which has a bunch of 3D models on. They're for sale, but you should be able to preview them for free.

If you're working in 3D, it might help to have a 3D model to reference.

Usually scrolling through Pinterest or Unsplash would help, but it's just not quite working. 💔

I hope your art block passes quickly, so you can test out your new pens! What kind did you get?

Ooh, that's an idea I'll be trying out. Audios would be cool for imagining OC lore, fr. 🙏
And, same! Same with reference pictures. Anything weird and crazy hits different; especially really weird high fashion. 😭
