Any artists out there?

I personally draw that line at construction. If I'm making something with my hands more involved than using traditional art supplies (paint pencil, etc), to me it's a craft. For example, it I'm building a lamp or some kind of a diorama, or doing a resin cup or sewing a mask, think of it as a craft.

Yes, same here. My husband and I agree to disagree on the topic.
He has formal education in art, I do not. He "creates" oddball furniture and calls it art. I call it a chair.

Art is in the eye of the beholder. I don't consider myself to really be an artist because nothing I do is ground-breaking or difficult to reproduce with a little practice. My wife, who is an amazing illustrator, graphic designer, and maker in her own right, tells me I'm an idiot. :)

My husband won't paint with me. When he found out that I could paint on canvas he was shocked, I had never shown him that part of me - for my own reasons. He had sort of boasted about going to Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham when we first started dating. I kept my mouth shut. I figured he could paint much better than me and I am not as confident in my work as most people. I didn't want to be embarrassed. One day, after 7 years of marriage, he brought home a value pack of canvas, some decent brushes and acrylics.
I asked if I could have one, he said of course... asked me if he could help me. I said yes. I wanted to see his work before I attempted to do anything. He was giving me all type of pointers.
I didn't paint that day.
I waited until he left and I painted the whole day and finished an okay piece. I showed it to him. He built me an okay size "studio"...
Never once came in with me to paint. That was 5 years ago...
I don't consider myself an artist either. I just love to paint and create stuff.

We're a bit different. My creative talent has always been writing (go figure) or building things with my hands. I didn't have a lot of interest in drawing or painting until I had to spend some time laid up due to an injury and she got me some Kerby Rosanes coloring books and pencils. Then our daughter wanted to try out paint pouring because she saw some TY vid about it, so we picked up a kit at Michaels. Don't know what it was about pouring, but I connected with it and have been painting for about 2 years now fairly actively. I still can't draw for crap, but thats OK. I can describe things to my wife in great detail and she can draw them for me. :) She dual majored in GD and advertising and still does freelance stuff when she gets bored.

Nice. At times, earlier in my life, I had wished I went to ASFA. Now, eh, not so much.

One of my paintings I did when I was about... 10 I think?
I'd usually paint animals and landscapes.

One of the canvases was warped and they didn't lie flat. I didn't catch it until it was too late, so I had to press pretty hard and got ripples. Not thrilled, but I'm not gonna scrape it either. Tomorrow I'll look them over and I think I'm gonna space them in some kind of mirror/alternate universe type dyptich.

I've been kinda art blocky lately so nothing new...but I do want to show you some of the commissions pages I've made. Two I did recently and the first one about a year ago as an experiment (I never actually opened commissions then). But now that I have the time and resources to do it, I am going to try advertising on some discord art channels to start out.
Notice with each one, the prices drop, not because of low demand but low self-esteem haha. I think I'm going to keep the middle price though.
