Any artists out there?

Has anyone tried Procreate Pocket? That’s the only version I’d be able to get, so I’m curious to see if anyone has any experience before I purchase it. Some reviews say that it doesn’t have as many of the features as the iPad version, but those were a little on the older side, so I’m not sure if it’s still accurate.
You can sort the reviews by most recent
But what I’ve seen from them it’s just complaints about being unable to navigate the technicalities that’d be resolved by a google search. I wish I could share my experience with it :/ but I don’t have the app

This was helpful, thank you! /gen

It looks like it got updated at some point, so it has most of those features after all. :yesss: Plus I just saw the maximum canvas size. I’m definitely getting it. XD

I say just go for it. If you can sketch and color things with it, then it’s probably fine.

When was the last time that I actually posted a piece of artwork on here? Does anyone remember that far back? Must've been months, I think.
Anyway, I drew this the other day but kept forgetting to post it. I guess that this will be my last drawing posted here for 2021.
The character is Hatsune Miku, a Vocaloid. I don't usually draw eyes like that, but I've seen a few cute pictures on Pinterest where the eyes are basically colored ovals, so I decided to try it. The shading on the hair is also a bit weird. I guess that I was in an experimental mood that day.
Sketched using a mechanical pencil, inked using a 0.5mm Sharpie pen, and colored using Crayola colored pencils.

girl saff if you cover her actual mouth to have her nose as her mouth she low key looks like something out of kirby
also this is SO DETAILED WHAT
Maybe one of you artists can help me. I am currently working on a horse, and I am taking a lot of inspiration from this artist. The problem I am having is with the mane and tail, I can’t figure out how they did them. Perhaps any of you have an idea?

shape the hair in one big shape
then go downwars to big clumps that have their own structure
then little strands for details
here ill draw the shapes around it to show you
i did this on phone it was rough but hopefully this gets the idea across lol

Yeah, I figured that… I had been doing the clumps. I more meant how they drew each individual strand… I just can’t figure it out.

These are the clumps I have.

bigger clumps, it looks like noodles, try to have the overall shape done and out first, then add the details and shading and such, then it'll look like hair
just note EVERYTHING boils down to big shapes
hopefully this helped a bit
Hey, how’s the movement in the hair looking?
I’m worried there may be too much contrast, or at least the contrast is utilized improperly.

Experiment worked. Basically what I did here was a comparison of my normal technique (left) where I mask planets and then cover over the rest of the pour with new background, and the reverse of that, where I instead just did some minor changes to the background and laid planets in over the top of it. (right) This isn't as detailed as a lot of my finished pieces since it's a study piece, but it definitely works.
