Rule number one. Don't compare your work to others, that's the path to madness. Be proud of what you're able to do and never stop improving.

Rule number 2, see rule number 1. Your work is great and we're all our own worst critics.

Rule number 3, check posting dated before responding to a 2 year old necropost :)

It's actually so easy to make hair look great once you realize how to draw it! Look at pictures of hair and see where the shadows are and where the highlights fall on the braid, head, bun, etc. I recommend starting with braids, they're also the most fun imo. Also drawing a high bun from the side is good. The trick is finding where the shadows and highlights are, then you can make your hair look really good. Start small so that you can focus on the details, then get bigger. My first drawings were HORRIBLE but I was determined to get better before quarantine was over (Lol that never happened), even if it looks bad keep trying!

For the pencil drawings I use a regular pencil, it's the yellow Ticonderoga ones with the pink erasers. For the blue hair I used pastel pencils.
How do you like pastel pencils? I've been thinking about getting some.

What all of you have been waiting for! Just kidding. Honestly, it takes me so long to finish one drawing. But anyway, here are some photos of the process and the finished drawing.
