For whatever reason, that alien creature is really, really appealing to me. how intelligent is it?

It is a type 1 sophont, so not much more advanced than us. If you could speak it’s language, you could totally have a nice conversation with it

I like the idea of shorter, rounder noses, I think that makes them look much more human-like.
