I checked my hive finally this year and boy have they been busy. I had to put a honey super on.
The brood is 80% full and they had their winter honey stock over 1/2 full. I should get a pretty good amount of honey this year if the weather keeps going the way it is.

So far so good... We had a cloudy rainy day on Sunday, which I think encouraged them to stay put. I'll try to post some more photos of the removal process tomorrow!

Mandy, first off do you guys spray the beans with any herbicide or pesticide? And you only really need a small area to have the hives. How many are you planning on having? They can be right by the house...or out in the back or front yard. Or wherever you want. A low traffic area is best though and a place that gets plenty of sun!
