Any Border Collies out there?

I have a border collie as well! Her name is Corona (I joked that is what my DH was drinking the night he decided to let me have her!) Ahh a diffrent life ago before kids!

She is amazing although we have to keep an eye on her. Our flock of guinneas bring out the puppy in her and she LOVES chasing and working them up into a squallering frenzy!

Here she is!

What is with the OCD in Border Collies? I adopted a border collie/lab cross about 3 years ago from the Humane Soc. He was dropped off at 12ws old cause he was scared of guns. Freddie stayed there for almost 2yrs before I saw him. He can be a handfull, he doesnt care for strangers..I have at least trained him now to go into the bedroom and lay down, instead of pacing and eyeing them up. He loves to heard the chickens. Hates to have his routine broken, it gets him all worked up. He will absolutely not let me forget to go out in the am & pm to let the birds out or in. (like i could forget) He looks more lab-ish but has the total personality of a BC.

Glad he likes the water, cause he loves to roll in deer poop (stinks alot worse than cow poop) and gets a bath often. He just steps in and sits down

Love my BC/Lab cross...one of the most intelligent dogs I've owned. He is so easily trained that it only takes minutes to introduce a new command to him. He is one of the most self-sustaining dogs I've ever seen....silent and very efficient hunter, scavenger supreme~will eat anything with nutritive value...and some without!, no health problems whatsoever, quicker than lightening and sweeter than sugar.

Trained him on the chickens in about 20 min. total time spent....haven't had one problem in the past 2 years. Never hardly barks....if I hear him bark I know its something big out there and usually human.

I will be getting sheep soon and will see how he does with some simple herding. He definitely has the agility, speed and intelligence....I'll just have to see if he has the instinct!

Awesome dog u got. Freddie is alot like that too. It only took a few minutes one day to teach him not to chase the birds. He has caught on to hand signals too when I would herd the chickens in early. Very smart, sometimes too smart. He sticks to me like velcro and is very protective.

I have a five month old brown, white & tan Border Collie puppy Skye. He's a rascal, but I still love him! I couldn't ask for a better patience teacher

I grew up with a Border Collie, Frisky. She drove us nuts at times but was a wonderful dog. We also had one of her younger brothers, Laddie, for about two years but had to euthanize him when he abruptly bit my younger brother

I am so happy to have a Border Collie again-when I got Skye last year, it had been four years since Frisky died. Border Collies are awesome dogs, but not for everyone!

That's so sad.

Hope you find a good home for her. If this had happened three months ago before I got Skye, I'd happily have taken her, but one dog is all I can care for right now.

I still need to train her a bit more on leash, she forgets sometimes how fast she is...I haven't taken a pic yet, have been filling out and turning in applications and going to job interviews...will try tomorrow! I'd like to get shetland or shetland/icelandic sheep:) I also have (from a kill shelter) an Australian Cattle Dog halfbreed we've had three years now, couldn't find a good home for her and she happily herds the weims and goldens. I'd like to have those two, Gezzie and Daisy (came w/the name) help herd the geese and ducks next summer;)

Here is my boy Llewellyn,

He has become rather dirty playing in the snow this morning. Now closing his eyes to avoid the new flakes falling.
