Now that my chickens are about 13 weeks old, my black sex link appears to be a rooster. The comb and wattle are huge, but I don't have any other BSLs to compare it too. Is there anyone who has BSL rooster pics to post? Looking on the internet showed surprisingly few pics of Roos. I know each bird has their own personality, but I wonder if BSL roosters have a general personality type? Thanks! Here's my good looking, probable rooster Violet (may need a name change haha).

When I got the chicks on 4/13 they were around 3-6 days old, so now between 13-14 weeks old- and yes that one is huge! (S)he was the same size as the other chicks but started getting bigger faster when they lost their chick fuzz and got feathers. Here are some pics from today.

Being a sex link without a white spot on the head as a chick should indicate a female, and that's what she appeared like at the time. But around 4 weeks the comb got big and some barred feathers sprouted on the neck, which a female wouldn't have. I contacted the hatchery, whose response was basically there could have been a cross breeding "oops". Either way I live in an area where I can keep hens and roos Thankfully!
