Yep, it's a live concert video of Toby Mac and Diverse City (not DC Talk) doing Jesus Freak. At the beginning of the video Toby says a prayer for the city of Houston and the people at the concert, and at the end he exclaims... "Jesus is the Way, Jesus is Truth, and Jesus is the Life! God bless you Jesus Freaks" I was fortunate enough to see a concert of this tour when they were in Charlotte, NC.

SpeckledRoo the difference between Faith and taking God for granted...Faith is knowing that whatever situation you are in at any given moment is the perfect will of God, taking God for granted would be thinking we were in control all along and God didn't do EVERYTHING to help us through. I think people in those situations like you used as an example may be correct with what they spoke that because of their faith God saw them through, but they are also centering their reaction on themselves with no verbal regard for others in the same situation. Try explaining something that happened to you without using the words I, my, and me. It's near impossible! Add to that the fact that when we are in stressful situations we often revert back to self and our own emotions about whatever may be going on because we can't actually FEEL other peoples pain in a literal sense. It is human to do so, and God understands the beings that He made, but He also expects us to grow away from those self-centered people and become Christ centered. That's a difficult thing to do...guess that's why He gives us on average 70 years to attempt to get it right. There are plenty of other ways to look at the question you put out there, but this is just what struck me as significant.

I agree with you. I just couldn't think of a better way to put it

We CAN walk in others shoes, but often times we do not by nature of the human condition alone. A greater service to ALL would be more humility in any given situation.

What is the difference between Faith and taking God for Granted?

I see so many good answers, but I was hoping for one thing which is missing. The Bible. Lets look at the Bible's definition of faith, Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. How do we get faith? Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. When I teach about faith I ask my students to open the bible and find the verse that proves each statement of faith they believe they have. If there is no verse then God is being taken for granted.

For instance, How are we saved? Ephesians 2: 8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Notice we are saved through faith. Faith in what? Faith in what the bible says about the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Faith is not believing in the act alone. It is believing that God wrote the words and trusting the words that tell us about what happened. Faith always has to have an anchor, it can not be floating around. The anchor of faith is the word of God. If the word is not the foundation of faith then it is not faith.
