I was born in Brewerton NY, lived in Baldwinsville from age 9 to 22. I was raised a Christian, but it never felt right to me. My folks are not the type to shove it down anyone's throat, far from it, they are just good people that believe in the Christian religion.

I've read the Bible - twice actually, and many many many many other religious texts and books. In each of them is something that is good, and something that is too 'man' in them. I'll take what Mother Nature has to offer over man any day of my life. I've been on my knees, and I still believe as I do today, so maybe you saying my truth is false is an attack in my eyes. I have believed as I do now since I was 17, that was 32 years ago.

All religions have been made-up by man, if there wasn't man, there wouldn't be religion!

I respect that you wont candy coat your beliefs for us non-believers. I DO respect that and i totally understand it too, because i feel the same way about my non-religion. I wont candy coat my non-beliefs for a christian either...
If you tried to convert me..i would be mad at you and tell you to bug off...

So i get what ya'll are saying..
Thats why a its not a good idea for a non-believer to EVEN post on this thread..(even though they were just trying to be nice ). there is just no point to it...
We disagree.. thats all there is to it..
So my polite suggestion to the other non-belivers that have recently posted on here..... let this thread be in peace...come join the non-religious thread.

Peace!

We Christians know that Christianity is not made up because we have expierienced the miracle of God.....which is salvation from the sins of the world. I do agree with Redhen if you are non religous do not post here..let us have peace...but do post here if you want to become a Christian. I also agree with speckledhen...I respect the person not the beliefs.

And that is precisely why I am no longer a Christian. You cannot respect a person and not respect what they believe in.

With that, I will leave you to your own machinations.

Oh, yes, you can. Absolutely, you can! I do it every day here on BYC, as do many others. We have this Christian thread, the pagan, the non-religious (though I really don't buy that term at all in the way it's meant lately) so this is not a place for anyone to come debate here. Christianity is not what non-christians think it is--their definitions are full of misinformation and stereotyping. Reading the Bible through with no understanding of the difference between law and grace, no understanding of the divisions of dispensations, will not understand it and will throw it down in disgust, most likely. It must be read completely in the context of who is speaking, to whom, what time period, etc. Without that, it is a mass of confusion and contradictions. One cannot cease being a Christian, that is a new creation. "raised a Christian" also has no meaning. You can be raised going to church, but no one can 'raise' you a Christian. You become one at a point in time when you believe and settle that in your mind that God is right and what you think is right must jibe with what He says is right and trust in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as payment for your sinful nature. One can lose hope, lose their joy, lose fellowship, not attend church, not be a Christian in the first place, but one cannot UN-save oneself.

Everyone, on this subject, should stay where they are most comfortable. If you don't agree with what's posted here, there are other threads more to your liking, I'm sure.

Just to clear something up..
The reason that i use the term "non-religious" is because i dont have a religion.... (hence the non part...)I dont believe in the bible at all and i'm not a pagan either... I dont believe in any of it..
Anyways... i have no religion... thats why i call it "non-religion"... thanks

I will say this one more time and then all these threads I fought so hard for will be closed.....

You all wanted a Christian thread, you got it.

You wanted a non christian thread, I fought for one for you all.

You wanted a pagan thread, it was allowed in fairness.

The fastest and best way to get ALL these threads closed is to come in and start up when this is not your cuppa tea.

You all have separate threads where you can discuss things. I suggest you live and let live and go to your own threads according to your beliefs.

Once you have had a chance to run and see why the wicked Terrie closed this thread, I will reopen it.
