Any cast-iron lovers here?

I have several cast iron pieces mostly frying pans. I also have a dutch oven and 3 of the corn bread pans (1 in the shape of wedges and 2 in the shape of corn).

I love to cook with cast iron. That is actually all I have. hehehe except for a few pots.

I love to make green beans and potatoes in the dutch oven and then a pan of cornbread.

heading to kitchen for leftovers......................................................

My husband grabs every old piece of iron he sees at yard sales or where ever he might see some. He only likes the old stuff though. I have some of my grandmas old iron I cook with daily. He has thick old boards in the kitchen he hangs them on, it looks much more cool than it sounds, LOL.

My grandmother's cast Iron skillet is the only pan I reach for!! My husband will cook on that other non stick stuff, but that's because he's afraid of it. When us kids grew up, my mom gave each of us one of grandma's skillets. We all love and prefer them. I have since bought more at each chance I get.

I have one heirloom piece, my Grandmother's great big skillet, which makes the best cornbread!! I have added from garage sales/flea markets and bought new. I love it, my S.O. was fascinated by it and since I have turned him on to using his grill for more than steaks, he has begun his own collection and takes great care with seasoning it properly and studying up on using it. He's even made an outdoor kitchen that I am thoroughly jealous of, but am already drawing up the plans for mine....I helped him with his, and now I'll be calling in that marker once the temp starts dropping out of the triple digits around here!!
I bake pies in iron skillets in my gas grill, and plan on getting a flat griddle or two for cookies!! But my Pampered Chef stoneware works very well in it for cookies, so it hasn't become a priority.....I love the stoneware too (can be gotten cheaply sometimes on eBay!!)

Oh yeah..cast iron lover/collector here..my dh and I have over 100 pieces..I like griswold/wagner but especially like Favorite and Martin..harder to find..i used three different ones at breakfast this morning..chili in a dutch oven can't be beat!!!!

Cast iron is all I cook with. Nothing can sear a steak like cast iron, and I use one small skillet just for eggs. Nothing sticks to a well-seasoned pan.

I have a dozen skillets in various sizes, and a super deep one for frying chicken- I have a couple of lovely dutch ovens, but one is a modern Lodge variety- it's a good size for us for everyday use.

I have one that has wonderful hand-hammered marks all over it- very pretty- another with a slight lip to the bottom of it, and another which has the word 'Sydney' (I think it's Wagner).

I have a tiny skillet my daughter says makes the perfect single egg, and love every piece of the iron ware!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only person in love with her pans!!!
