No, I was told this one was female. It came from Hoover's Hatchery and from what I have read on this site, their formula for sexing Sapphire Gems seems to be flawed.

A sapphire gem hen will not have a headspot, a cockerel will.

If they sold you this as a pullet, I would say it's flawed. But he really is handsome. Can't wait to see what he looks like fully grown!
