Any chance this is not a cockerel?

I have 4 Ameraucana EE’s. They are 4 weeks old. The grey one has a comb coming in that’s clearly bigger than the rest. Is jumping around on everything and everyone. Is their any chance that this is not going to be a Rooster? My last batch I had all hens although some people told me I had a Roo so I’m leary of re-homing too early.

It is probably a cockerel, but I wouldn't rehome just yet - have a 'Plan B' in mind.

Normally yes but that is definitely a cockerel

I think I heard it try to crow this morning . He’s be about 5 weeks now is that possible? New to cockerels.

It can be possible for a first attempt but definitely not a dignified crow. I’m sorry it’s always difficult is there anyway you can keep him?

I could most definitely keep him, he is super docile in my hands right now so I’m tempted but nope I don’t think I want to deal with the things that you have to deal with when you have a Rooster. He’s already terrorizing the girls. I’m going to try and give him away.

Not every chicken works with every management style. Hope you have success finding him a new home.

I had one start trying at 4 weeks. Sort of a SCREE-eee. Took at least a couple months to resemble a more normal crow.

He really is so sweet right now, but am scared of the almost inevitable puberty turn that it seems like most people experience with Roosters. What’s been everyone’s experience with Murray McMurray Ameraucana (Easter Eggers)? Aggressive? Non-aggressive?
