Any fellow birdwatchers out there?

Well, after about one year of searching, I finally got a picture of the great horned owl that resides near my neighborhood. This owl is quite elusive.

I only wish my shutter was set correctly.

We went for a hike yesterday and saw these beautiful bald eagles, and also what I think is an osprey.

Here's what I think is the osprey. It's definitely some kind of bird of prey, as the hooked beak is obvious. If anyone can confirm that would be great! They aren't the best pictures, but the bird was quite far away.

Great picture!

Ospreys aren't very common in my area, so to get a chance to see/photograph one is amazing. :) The bald eagle population is increasing exponentially around here. Once, I didn't think I'd ever see a bald eagle in real life here, and now, I see probably see several a week, just driving locally. We even have an eagle family that lives near us--I see an adult and two juveniles feeding on carrion in the fields up and down our road frequently. I don't think it will ever feel mundane to see an eagle--I get a thrill every time I see one. :)

Birds love this tree in my backyard. Here’s a bald eagle with a crow, and one of our great horned owls.

Great photo!

We had an American Coot in the yard the other night. We’re across the street from a river, but I usually only see coots on calmer water rather than spring rapids, so it was a little unusual.
