We had an earthquake yesterday. In IDAHO! THAT was weird!

This isn't an April fools day joke. It was a 6.5 magnitude. Shook my house.

I set up a bird feeder on my patio a few years ago but I had to move it to the tree in my yard recently because my cat was getting the birds. My cats favorite thing to catch is birds so it didn't surprise me when I found a few mutilated birds on my patio. But soon the the number of birds was getting oddly high. Now I think my cat is part Maine Coon because he's BIG. But not only is he big he's FAT too. Like he weight 18-19lbs. :eek:

. But anyway I was thinking that there was absolutely now way this cat could catch this many birds because he's slow and loud. After I moved the feeder the number of birds he catches has gone down significantly but he still catches them from time to time and I have no idea how. I really do miss being able to look out my window and see them. But ever since I moved it an entire flock of Red-Winged Blackbirds eat from it and a wood pecker who has been destroying my trees,

There were 4 of these hawks all flying around my house yesterday. The kids thought they were after the chicks, but I think they were vying for mates/pairing up. I'm horrible at identifying raptors, but I think these are red-shouldered hawks.

It's been a while, but I'm loving what I'm seeing here!

Fabulous birds, everyone! I just returned from a trip to Kentucky for spring migration, and got a couple lifers, as well as a close encounter with my favorite bird of all time. :love
