Hey, Kelly!!!!!

How are you adjusting to your new life and new son?! It's huge change - but it's the HARDEST job you'll ever love!!! How was it going back to work?

My 9 year old Fjord gelding (gelded last May) is now part of my beginner lesson program & one of the kids' FAVORITE horses. He's better than I EVER though he'd be!!!

Hi! Long time, no talk! I tried to get ahold of you a while back to see if you still wanted the goaties.

Mommyhood is wonderful! I somehow lucked out and got a very happy content baby. Still not sure how that happened.

Your Fjord is gorgeous, as always! Glad he's doing so well as a gelding!

Gosh, I'm sorry I missed your call! Did you leave me a message? I can only offer my apologies - so sorry!

We ended up with a mini-donk this fall....and I sold my Saddlebred to a wondrful friend who lost his horse of 20+ years. It's been a good fit for both of them - and I have the piece of mind knowing Stanley is loved & well cared-for (and I have "visitation"

) I'm just going t stick with the Fjords - I've always loved the drafties...and these are nice and low to the ground!

I may take in one rescue each year (this is really what Stanley was, as well as Daisy - our QH mare that died at 32 last March), get him (soft spot for he geldings) back to a healthy weight & state of health, get them to w/t/c and when/if the right home comes along....we'll make space for the next. There is no shortage of horses to fill this "needy horse" stall....but I can only afford do do this for one at a time - and at least I've made a differnce for two horses in three years...it's just so darn hard to turn down the others....it breaks my heart. One lady about a mile from me has 10 horses - but she's only feeding her 3 favorites. How do you do this?! How do you feed them while the others look at you? Of course her house is in foreclosure, so she's looking for someone to take the un-favored 7....and she's taking her 3 favorite. None are broke to ride. Their future doesn't look good.

I'm sure you see all this crazyness all the time....but you fix one horse at a time, too

I'm so glad you've had an easy time....I bet mother-hood just suits you and you're a natural!

I didn't call. I PMed you.

Your neighbor needs to be

. People are absolutely ridiculous. Maybe an anonymous call to animal control is warranted...if they're in bad shape. It's nice of you to rescue the ones you can. I usually end up taking at least 1 dog home per month b/c the owners are deadbeats and can't afford to fix something that's easy to fix and would end up just putting the dog down.

My techs call it my "Dog of the Month Club."

So far they've all found homes and I haven't kept any of them.
