These 2 are 5.5 weeks old and I know they are still much too young to really be able to say but just thought for fun if anyone had the same thoughts as I do about them . The white one usually stands much more erect and is very calm and laid back , will sit on my lap and go to sleep and just stay there until I put him/her back in brooder . Also it's feathers by where the comb will be is parted much more than the buff one which I'm not sure is a buff now bc it's getting black tips at the wing tips . By the time I got them they were already 2 weeks old so I didn't get to see his fluff coloring that well . Anyway here they are .

I think the white one is a male, and the other one is a female.
The white one has more comb.

I'm thinking the same. White is male but I know it's much too early just was curious if anyone had the same line of thought as me . These are my first silkies so it will be a guessing game for a while lol. Thanks yall

I'm sorry, but they are too young to sex. Silkies are slow maturing, so its best to wait until 12 weeks to be safe. Then post pics of the body, crest, and comb, with crest pulled back.

They are so darn cute - but much too young to sex. Generally the best time to sex silkies is 4-5 mos. of age but sometimes you get earlier clues, like crowing.
