I have heard that you should not give chicks certain greens. Is there anything I definitely shouldnt be giving them?

I don't think I've ever seen a chicken eat a tomato plant. The fruit, yes, but not the plant. I suppose it could happen though.

Ordinary greens such as cabbage, kale, turnips, mustards and so on are very good for them.

And Swiss Chard.

They LOVE Swiss Chard! I grow a 4' X 8' patch of chard just for my chickens.

Raw potato peels are not good for chickens. Those are fine if cooked though. When I peel potatoes I peel onto a paper plate and then nuke them for a couple minutes to feed to the chickens.

I always give my bantams greens like lettuce, brocolli, cut up celery, cabbage, green beans. They love it. I know it is not good to give chickies junk food. I don't give them candy, but they sure love Cheetos.
