Personally I don't think those are Marans. Feather-shanked Cuckoos are quite rare.

I am hoping for some dark eggs but I thought I was bringing home barred rocks so any kind of egg would be good!

1- rooster
2- pullet

they are crosses, the roo looks like he has a single/pea comb cross. can't tell on the pullet. It's possible they might even be Olive egger crosses. Do you know where they came from? like maybe a backyard flock or hatchery?

Hard to say with the first pic cause you didn't show the tail plumage (saddle feathers), so the first pic might be a boy, however the feathers on the neck are very rounded and that is a hen characteristic. Compared to the others though I would have to say the first is a rooster and the others are hens. Nice looking birds!

Thefirst three pics is a boy the last pics is a girl. In Cuckoo and Barred it is usually easy to tell because the girls have more black and less white(double bar gene or something like that) and the males
Have more white spacing and less black(lacks this double bar gene). With the white legs my guess was also French Cuckoo Marans but I don't think on Marans that the feathers go out onto the toes do they?

They guy said they came from a hatchery and I saw his chickens so I dont think they came from his flock. I am guessing they came from cackle hatchery just by what kind and assortment he had. He said he ordered 1000. Many of the others that have been identified appear to have come from cackle.
