If it ends up looking kind of like a black Orp, I wouldn't mind that at all. The father had really good body type for an Orp, nice and round and low-set. I think maybe that's more the English style? In any case, he was a gorgeous-looking bird. If she'd had lavender Orp chicks I'd have taken one in a heartbeat, but she said she had recently lost all her lavender Orp hens to a raccoon.
