This thing was my Great grandmother's and I have no clue what it is. My Grandmother thinks it had something to do with making rugs. It has no writing on it or any other marks. Any ideas?

Looks like it does have something to do with making rugs. Looks like it might be used to keep the pile consistent? Not sure. Very interesting though!! That's cool, I like old stuff

I wish I had things like that from my great grandparents. Someone on here has to know the function of this "thing" lol. I'm curious now!!!! Come on people..anybody? I WANNA KNOW!!!!!!

no I haven't done that. I just ran across it again this morning. It had been packed up. I just thought I'd put it on here and see what happens!!!!
 
Well, my friend, it looks like that would be the next step. Doesn't look like anyone here knows...sigh...hope you find out, it's really cool!!
 
Antique Flour Mill Canvas Stitching Hand Tool.

This stitching tool was used in Grain Mills or Flour Mills to stitch the canvas bags closed once the bags where filled.

Just a quick pull of the string the stitching would let go, similar to unzipping a zipper.

What an awesome heirloom!!
