I totally agree with Shelley and I have had this happen when shipping eggs in July before. I usually candle to see if the egg is still clear and to be sure which end is the air sac so I don't set it upside down which I have done before and lost the chick

Sometimes its hard to tell which end is the smaller end.

My byc ladies are on my thread wooo hoooo

I didn't let them rest when they arrived

I immediately opened each egg, labeled, and kids stuck em in the bator

ok Shelley on yours I will do that when they get here

and let them rest without turning for a day ...... I hope I didn't mess up the others putting them directly in ugghhhhhh

hi jfulcher did you set up a fish tank or cover your cage? how many days have your eggs bin in the incubator? i got one chick this morning and 20 cracked shells so im hopping when i open my incubator in the morning it will be full of chicks.

I'm wrapping your eggs now, 4 EE, 3 WL, 3 BR or BC, and 4 (I think) silkies. I say I think, because I believe I got 1 of the japs' eggs mixed up. I thought I had a few more silkies but looks like it's 3 or 4. But japs are funky, they have super short legs

If you like japs I know I have 2 eggs from yesterday I can send too...just sayin'

they still have some time to go 2-3 days or so depending on temperature and time you set them.

Temp is about 100 F I dont remember the exact time I set them.

Send them on Shelley !!! I think short stubby legs fall into the "funky" category. ok plan is when they get here we will label and put in the bator but let them rest on sides for 24 hrs then put them in the turner thing. Hangin wit my Peeps eggs got here and I put them straight in .... not resting....just straight into the turner. Fingers crossed she is the byc'er I was talkin bout at begining of thread !!!
