ok so I candled late tonite....kinda disappointed but not too bad...could be worse I guess

So here goes :
out of the lavendar bantams 7 show veining with 1 of them kinda iffy
had to throw 2 out definate no development and detached air cells
the 1 bantam cochin did not vein and had no definitive air cell

9 of the home white layer eggs had veining with 2 being iffy
had to throw 2 whites out no veining
6 of the home brown layer eggs i kept all in because i just could not see well enough for a sure yes or no

so my other shipped eggs should be here monday i am going to add those

steady temp so far at 99.9 except when opening for candling it fell temporarily right at 99.0 when i was finished

my shipped lavendar bantam eggs have weird shaped air cells but they are developing so i am hoping it is ok

i marked all the air cell with pencil so i can see at next candling what the changes are

so I guess I am just hopefull!!!!

Did you get the eggs from me? I checked the DC# but it says there is no record. I sent 5 packages that day and all said the same thing

I so mad////stupid substitute mailman left the delivery note in mailbox never even came to door clld po and guy sd he put pkg in front for me but would hv to wait till mon am to pick up....told jim they were hatching eggs and he apologized sd sub was a new fella. So hopefully it isn't too late, they are in air conditioning at least !!!! So I guess yes they hv come but no I dont have them in my posession yet ugghhhh

I candled mine sort of...just a quick candle and had to remove the 'bullet' shaped eggs because there was nothing there. I kind of figured those would not do anything. Never had a bullet egg do anything yet. I do have a lot of clears but left them for another day to be sure. I lost my "good" candler so using the meg lite again

Until my new ones comes in. Out of 75 eggs I think I may lose quite a bit

To be expected I guess. Makes me glad I got 75! They are all BLRW.

the4heathernsmom can you take a pic with the air cells penciled? I'm so curious as to the odd shape and what they look like...would like to compare them to what I have here. I guess I never really thought of looking at the shape of the air cell so now I want to put more in my bator and check it out lol. Praying that the ones you have left hatch for you!

Just curious for the people that hatch lots of babies at a time what do you do with them all. I have always wondered this when I here people talking about setting 63, 100s or heck if 20s. What does everyone do with them when they are born. Do people have this kind of room for them all? The most I have set at one time is 12 and I am really new to this and only 3 hatched. Thanks, just being nosey.

Candled mine tonight out of the 20 there may only be 4 or 5 that may make it. They were shipped eggs and I think the silkie ones got pretty well scrambled (packaged was not marked fragile or anything, so it probably got thrown around quite a bit). The blue orpingtons looked a little better. Hope I get something out of this.

Looks like we are having some of the same not so good luck!!!! Yes I will try to post pics i am not good at it and dont understand how to do it on here.....my computer is a little older and my internet service is the cheapest so therefor not very fast at uploading. If someone can post the link for doing pics "I will go take some right now and try to post them ......
