Anyone want to take a guess?

Oh, I can only wonder how if it is a New Hamp Red, (Rhode Island Reds are darker as chicks) it could have been mistaken for a Red Silkie.
We ordered Silkies and a Sultan.
I am SO disappointed

in Ideal Poultry that they can make such a mistake.

Thank you for the hint.
Let's see if there are any other breed suggestions.

It's neither of the so far listed birds.

It looks like a Wheaten colored cockerel, possibly an Old English Game Bantam.

If it really is wheaten, so far yes. Wheaten cockerels at a young age will develop a lot of black on their feathers, then completely feather out as solid black and red birds. The females will feather out a pale brown and creamy white color.

Course, this chick may just be a production red or cross or something. . . We'll see as it matures.
