I used to also, haven't had any for several years though.

When the boys were small, we lived in town with a DQ not far away. We had some great times sitting outside with cones and treats on hot summer evenings.
DQ closed in Woodland 20 years ago. There was one in Davis but it was closed several years ago. We have a frozen yogurt place and a Basken Robbins

There are two dq's we can go to when out one in Centralia by the outlet mall other is easier exit 88 I-5.. they are having a news story about floating in a little shell Epsom salt with distilled water only in Seattle :hmm:oops:

Hello,

Haven’t been on for a while, not much to post baking wise.

Had something interesting happen though that lead into a big baking project.

I was taking care of my vegetable garden when I noticed that there was a tree growing right by our fence. On closer inspection, I noticed this tree had hundreds of berries.

I am a member of the forum garden.org, so I went there and showed them the tree, and some friends of mine told me, “it’s a mulberry tree. It makes delicious jam and pies.“

I have no idea how it got there, but I harvested about 8 cups of mulberries from it. I made one mulberry pie, and right now I am in the process of making mulberry jam.

Me and my dad both agree that this jam beats the cherry jam, the apricot jam, and the grape jelly that I make.

I will upload pictures and recipe later, my canning pot is starting to boil.

A lot of people around here scoff at mulberries. I love them!

They do not sell them in stores so you have to grow your own.

I should plant one!
