Yesterday we made Apple pie egg rolls as well as blueberry pie egg rolls, pics to follow. Don't recommend anything with whole berries as the berries blow up in the fry making holes in the skins. My fryer is a total mess.

Speaking of cheese, Aldi has their Transylvanian Romanian cave cheese again. If you guys haven't tried it, you really have to! I look forward to it every year! They only carry it around Halloween.

here's the pics. I cheated and used canned pie filling, but any pie filling will do. I used egg wash instead of water to seal the edges and it seems to have worked better. The real trick was to crimp the sides before rolling them and then crimping the ends once rolled.

Yes and some of the blueberry ones were with powdered sugar. They taste great. I also recommend a small dice on the fruit as it's easier to manage.Too bad we can't sample them! Were they dusted in cinnamon sugar after frying?

It would probably work well, but cut the cherries at least in half. I had no expectation of exploding blueberries.I'm wondering how canned cherries would work with that idea. Love cherry pie of any sort and that might be a fun way of doing it.
Since the cherries are pitted and already open, I doubt they would explode like the whole blueberries did.It would probably work well, but cut the cherries at least in half. I had no expectation of exploding blueberries.![]()
