I can too, and although I don't use mine often, I don't know what I would do without it. I mean, how would I reheat a cup of coffee? Put it back in the pot?I can remember when microwave ovens did not exist.
I have one of those from my husbands grandmother.I use a snap lock container and put a brown sugar bear into it. The bear and the air tight container keep the brown sugar fresh

I have a terra cotta rooster in my brown sugar. It works great (as long as I remember to wet it down periodically).
I like the idea of bread or potato slices, never heard those before!
Where is "Coffee House" BC? Just wondering about your climate. I'm taking a break from veggie garden this year, and will take a class at a local college, "Master Gardener", hoping they can tell me how to grow a successful garden in rainy Washington. Although my garden is out in the open, I am surrounded by rain forest. I had great tomatoes one especially hot summer, but never again. That same year I had wonderful broccoli, cauliflower and peppers. Well, everything grew that year. But it has all been a failure every year since. Squash grows well, but I can only use so much of that.I love vegetables, and I lived without meat for many years. I just cannot imagine there being a large enough, steady supply of vegetables for even the current vegans and vegetarians in the near future.
I have had several years of bumper crops even when local farmers have had a bad season. I’ve also failed miserably at getting anything to grow for the season. I’m actually planning this coming spring as carefully as I can because I miss my vegetables!I also have been numbering the days for the two cockerels in the brooder since yesterday’s chicken noodle soup pictures.
I think they will come up with a synthetic way to get protein. We are sure living in strange times.
Then do you have any sage advice for growing a veggie garden in rainy WA?Coffee House is all over in WA and NY!![]()
They'll be pushing bugs and soy.
