That’s a good one Aria!Debby....what a Artistic Expression....AND PIE TOO. Happy Holiday Aria
It’s based on Pagan myths and has to do with fertility. All those eggs and bunnies in mainstream Christian America are stolen pagan themes, and that doesn’t just go for Easter. The churches decided if they couldn’t stomp out paganism they’d blur the lines a bit to attract more adherents. I remember seeing a cartoon back when I was a kid based on it and have loved it since.I just watched a REALLY weird and freaky ballet called “The Rite of Spring.” I listen to music on YouTube and it came up as a suggestion. Then I decided to look at the ballet itself.
It was, without a doubt, the WEIRDEST thing I ever saw!
What on earth was Stravinsky thinking when he wrote that?
Anyway, back on the baking subject, I’m going to see if I can pick up supplies for Christmas dinner tomorrow.

Many myths have sacrificial lambs so to speak. Jesus is the Christian equivalent. In fact many passages in the Bible mention sacrifices to the Jewish/Christian God in the form of food and other such things. It wasn’t only Pagans.
@igorsMistress, No offense, but how is this about fertility? As far as I know, The Rite of Spring is about a sacrifice!
Its a WEIRD ballet!
On another subject, one of my favorite composers, Nobuo Uematsu, got inspiration for a video game song from The Rite of Spring and the Psycho theme.
If anyone is interested.

PS Sacrifice was thought to bring fertility to the earth and therefore sustain the Pagans through another year. Just as sacrifice was thought to help the petitioner again the favor of their God for Jews and Christians
