After further review, I was unable to get my mothers recipe for scalloped potatoes.

Reason is she always estimates. She doesn’t do exact measurements often.

My mom, she’s a good cook. All the time I have known and lived with her, she has only made 4 meals that were not good.

You can get her recipe by standing right there as she makes it and writing down each step and the measurements.

I actually did that with my grandmothers goulash. Next time she makes scalloped potatoes, I’ll be her shadow.

Made the breakfast cookies this morning. Variations include orange extract and since I rehydrate the dried fruit in microwave for 2 minutes the juice of that was replacement for honey.

He mentioned the night as well. Can’t imagine that terrain at night, or any terrain at night. Footing had to be treacherous at the speeds they used to do. Do they still go fast or is it more a commemorative thing now.

The footing isn't too bad now since you are riding on the right of way. The distances are short so you can go fast paced the whole way. Most ride at a steady lope. The object is to keep the mail on time.

The required dress was a red shirt and a cowboy hat.
