Cherries with a little almond extract is fan-tas-tic! That's the secret to cherry butter, I've found.

I made a cherry/peach pie last night, what a tasty combination! Using the frozen fruit, I used 3 cups of cherries and 2 cups of peaches plus 3/4 cups of sugar, 1/3 cup of cornstarch and a sprinkle of almond extract.
