That loaf was lightly brushed with melted butter for the last two minutes of baking. Usually for everyday bread I don't.
Good treat for me is brushed with honey butter my fav.

I made @NorthFLChick cracker recipe today! The first batch I brushed with olive oils and sprinkled garlic powder and parmesan. They are good, but I should have sprinkled some salt on top. The second batch I did the same, but sprinkled some salt on top too

. Super yummy! While I was making them with the daycare, the heater repair people came and fixed the heater (YAY!

).

I'm also making chicken enchiladas and am almost ready to throw them in the oven, but had to share how the cracker recipe worked for me!

Hey Alice, glad the cracker recipe worked out for you! I'm going to try it again with garlic powder and parmesan/reggiano (sp?) next time. Thanks for letting me know to sprinkle with salt too.

Heat is nice! I'm just glad the heating repair man was able to come today! They said if today didn't work, they couldn't come until Thursday, so just happy they had room today and they were able to come early in the day. Friday and Saturday were super cold, it was warmer Sunday, so it wasn't that bad last night, plus a friend dropped off a space heater Sunday night, so it really wasn't bad, but I didn't want to go all week with no heat!

That's one of the reasons I wanted to try making some. Someone on another thread figured they were getting a better deal buying them from a bread outlet store but I like knowing what's in my food. And honestly, they were simple. Plus, it's kind of fun to point at something and say "I made that"

I hope you try them and like them!

I second i like knowing whats in my food. I hate buying peanut butter crackers there us no way thats actual peanut butter.
