24 hours after a feed:

Pretty interesting how starter develops. Last night it smelled like chamomile and honey with barely any tang and tonight it smells sour and tangy and glorious.

My dad made the best trout. It was just trout and butter baked in the oven. Oh it was so good. All of your fishing photos remind me of him. However, I'm not sure any of his fish were ever much longer than 10".

I’ll have to try that next time I get a fish!

I just fed Judy. I plan to have a pancake the next two mornings so that I can keep feeding her and she'll be rarin' to go on Friday.

Does anyone feed starter to their chickens? I put some on their afternoon mash snack, and it all disappeared.
I do. I either give it to them as it is or mix it with feed and leave it overnight to make a quick fermented feed. Disappears either way :p

Fog lifted, so I went ice fishing.

21 inches. That is 1 1/2 inches away from beating my personal trout record.

Today’s yield was one 16 inch 1 lbs 8 oz trout and one 21 inch 3 lbs 11 oz trout.

It might start getting warmer soon according to the weather, so I need to stop ice fishing for now.

At least I went out with a bang!

:clap That's awesome, Jared. My dad would have killed to have pulled in a pair like that!
