Any Home Bakers Here?

We are going from 67 degrees to 7 degrees with -10 windchills plus 4 inches of snow. Things are already well into full on spring bloom here.

Ma Nature seems to be having a fit, meanwhile I'm wondering if I'm addled brained because I thought I left the North and all that cold stuff behind.

Bad news, the powers out. Don’t know when it’ll be back on. If it doesn’t come on in an hour, I’ll have to find something else that I don’t have to bake for dinner.

Can't ever remember having a high pollen count warning and a winter storm warning For. The. Same. Day.

I've been sneezing today and the snow will be here in a few hours. Saturday's high will be at 12:01 AM then drop like a rock all day long.

I covered what flowers and ornamentals I could with totes, buckets, muck tubs, and blankets. I can only hope we will get the predicted 2 to 6 inches of snow to help insulate them until we get above freezing again on Sunday afternoon.

In anticipation of the incoming nasty weather, I had a big bake come on today.
Apple cinnamon upside down cake, a big batch of dutch babies, and another focaccia.

I upped the ingredients a bit on the focaccia to fit my bigger, and better, metal pan and it worked out perfectly.

Gotta say, for being both GF and DF, it's just as impressive the second time. I was just about transported back to the days of going to a fine small Italian restaurant. You know...the ones who serve a wonderful fresh baked flat bread on a plate and you just break off what you want. They also set out little saucers of high quality olive oil for dipping, another with yummy herbs. and they ask you if you would like fresh grated parmesan cheese in your saucer of olive oil. ...yeah, it's that good.

Tomorrow I'll probably make a hearty stew in the crock pot.

3 inches of snow so far and it's still coming down.
Frozen rain hitting my window woke me up about 1 or 2 AM, then it changed over to snow. As predicted, temps have been steadily dropping. It's about 20 now and gusty winds. Gonna be 4 tonight. Hard to believe I had on shorts yesterday.

Mom and Pop cardinal were scoping out my climbing rose bushes for nesting sites yesterday.... I'm sure they are good and confused today.

Good day to wrap up in a quilt, sew, and let the crock pot do it's thing.
