Hi! Welcome! I'm a "sometimes" baker in SE Missouri. Don't bake as much as as I used to now that it's mostly just me and the hubby at home but I enjoy watching this thread. We have some great bakers here!

This is in down town Plant City. The last Firday of every month, they close the streets for vendor to sale their home-made items.

Welcome! So good to have you here! We talk about a lot of stuff on this thread, mostly baking, but we sometimes talk about other stuff also.

I can’t say I’ve had lemon poundcake before.

Anyway, to everyone else, I am in La Grande, Oregon. I stopped for some lunch. Soon as I get home, i’m going to find a good recipe for a wild turkey. We plan on having it for Mother’s Day.

I'd guess you need to cook it differently....maybe? Is it more likely to dry out? I'm interested in what you do with it, Jared.

I plucked and cleaned it in the field per my aunts request, then I froze it overnight. It’s in a cooler right now.

I actually need it slightly thawed when I get home because I need to pluck the wings and remove the trophy parts, like the tail, beard, and spurs.

I don’t know. Maybe you cook it the same way as a store turkey. I do plan on brining it, though.

I just found this thread and it's fantastic to read all the good stuff people are baking. A lemon pound cake would be great with that turkey. Enjoy
