Any Home Bakers Here?

90°F here right now. But only 19% humidity. Doesn't feel bad.
I do not know what has been happening. PROBLEMS WITH MY EMAIL ACCOUNT. I hope it has been settled. I could not use my original email, I change
and created a gmail account, and then I WAS ABLE to make contact with my
original carrier and THEY GAVE ME A NEW EMAIL ADDRESS AND A NEW
PASSWORD. Now I should be fine. It was very stressful for me. And I missed
being able to communicate with my family and friends.

The one thing that is not the same....in this new email and new password all
my original contacts email addresses are GONE. I had several email addresses
and NOW I DO NOT have them. If I get in trouble again....I cannot reach out to
Penny Jo for Ron O. and i cannot send them my email because I do not
have theirs. Not good. hope to hear from them on this thread soon.Aria

Made this today. CORN PONE
It can be made by baking, as some recipes instruct, or quickly on stove top as this recipe that a member posted @BlueBaby ' Here is a link to posting.
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/arizona-chickens.31227/post-26956043
I copied the recipe, and posting a pix for easy reading.
The changes I made;
Instead of Bacon Grease, I used Butter.
I had to add a couple more tablespoons of water to get a dough like consistency.

Play by play.
My ingredients.;; I already mixed in the salt with the corn meal. Hot water added last.

This is how my dough looked. I just mixed everything in bowl by hand. (using spoon of course :frow ) Then separated into 6 balls, and flattened by hand. (into patties)

Notes.
This was a side dish to my dinner today. It went well with the Chicken tenders DW made today.
This is a basic food that is very similar to Native American Fry Bread. Difference being, Corn, instead of Wheat flour.
I know Fry Bread is made using Lard. I substitute lard with butter, or olive oil in my cooking/baking.
Made this recipe for first time. Now I am already thinking of experimenting further. Will consider making something called Johnny Cake. Using Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix. Plan on making it in same style, and shapes as above Corn Pones. Always experimenting, so I may add ingredients into dough not yet determined.:idunno
And Fry Bread made on Butter is also in my plans:highfive:
Crisco solid shortening is a good vegetable substitute for lard. I use it in my tortillas and masa for tamales.

Happy 4th of July!!!
