I just made these yesterday after reading this thread, and they are super delicious! I just wanted to confirm theres not meant to be any flour in the recipe?

My feeling is, if it works and is tasty, it's right. If you left something out/added something/did something different, well then! You made a variation/new recipe.

I would use something that would not conduct heat.

When I made the pie I used the extra crust to make an apple dumpling. I used a Cosmic Crisp apple. They were on sale for 68 cents a pound. It was really good.

Good price on the apple.
