I cooked the duck low and slow in the crockpot. It’s been in there for about nine hours I think.
All the meat actually fell off the bones! I have a feeling these are gonna make a good stock.
It was a small duck, only 8 ounces of meat on it.

Oh, man that is going to make some delicious stock! And then soup, if that's what you make with it.All the meat actually fell off the bones! I have a feeling these are gonna make a good stock.
I love your kitchen island, it's beautiful! Was not receiving again. EEK. Baked today
I put the bones in my crock pot, add water/stock to cover, a few peppercorns, and a splash of ACV. I cover and cook on low for 12 hours. I have discovered that bone broth tastes richer if I use a mix of bones, like adding a couple beef neck bones to my chicken or turkey bones. Using a shank ham bone adds a delicious depth to my turkey broth. This actually brings to mind a question. How exactly do I make a bone stock out of the bones?
I’m doing research on the Internet, and I’m seeing recipes for chicken and beef. I’m not seeing much for duck.
By the way, I forgot to add that I was able to get the giblets out. I’m gonna use them for gravy on Thanksgiving.
Jared, That is probably the BEST way to cook a Duck.View attachment 4239665

Thank you for sharing. Nice to know. AriaOh, and FYI: if you are using bones from a turkey that was cooked with stuffing in its cavity, rinse them off, thoroughly. Bits of stuffing ruined a whole batch of bone broth one time, made it bitter. I've had celery make the broth bitter, too, so I add it after the initial simmer.
