Any Home Bakers Here?

I need to check into it but I suspect it is like rosemary. The stuff used around here along side the road is not the same species used for cooking. The cooking variety has a better taste and blends into food better. The stuff on the road is like old leather!

Also, it is very possible that the culinary type was grown in a way that would make it safe to eat. The lavender for aroma uses might have less standards--like some type of preservative.

I did pay attention to the recipe tough that said make sure you get culinary lavender!

The package was in my mailbox yesterday. The stuff makes the house smell good!
I have a fairly large amount and the cookies use a tablespoon. I need to find more lavender recipes!

I saw a couple of lavender cookie recipes not long ago Ron...I'll try to dig them up for you. Seems one of them was a lavender and thyme shortbread (don't hold me to that) maybe, I'll let you know.

Found the 2 recipes I was looking at a while back. Apparently I sort of mentally combined the lavender/thyme one. There's a recipe for Lemon Thyme Shortbread and a recipe for Lavender Sandwich Cookies with Lemon Curd Filling.

Are you interested in either one of those?

I have made both lemon curd and raspberry curd. They are very tasty and not hard to make
