Any Home Bakers Here?

Well, I got a laugh last night, I made that bread recipe again, it dind't want to rise, it's chilly in the house, so I popped it in my dehydrator on 95 degrees for a while until I got it risen some, it had only risen to the top of the pan and it's supposed to be about half an inch above, but it was late so I decided to heat the oven up and bake it anyway.... The darn thing rose so much in the oven that it actually hit the top! It was about 3 inches above the top of the pan! Tastes good, but it was funny how much it grew.

 how tall is your oven?

We had a good dinner last night, very easy.

Cooked some bacon and using a couple tablespoons of bacon grease sautéed onions, garlic & mushrooms. Stirred in a jar of Alfredo sauce and some frozen peas. Served over pasta. I thought it would be enough for lunch today too, but DH polished it all off :( I guess he liked it alright!

Sounds tasty, will have to try this ( my kind of cooking :thumbsup )

We had chili - 'cause we are having an Arctic cold front thru here....don't know what was different (maybe 'cause I chopped stuff for DH) but it was the best we have made :)

Lol, it was on the top rack, not sure where our top rack is set, but the loaf was about 7 inches tall give or take.

Wish you had posted a pic, can you do it again for show :D

I didn't take pics and it's already sliced, will be making hamburgers and using the bread as buns tonight. I will be making it again. quick and easy home made bread.

Chili sure sounds good...that's one of DH's specialties here (when he'll take the time to make it). I might have to bribe him with a cake or something...

On cold days, I use a heating pad set on low. Another great place it the tip of the water heater.

I like the dehydrator idea. I could never get bread into mine and it does not go down to 95F for a setting

Mine is an Excalibur and has 5 shelves that can be removed. More than enough room to put 1-2 loaf pans in it. It also has a temperature setting which is nice because I don't really have to worry about it drying out the bread or killing the yeast.
I set the rack to the middle of the oven. If I put it too high, the top burns.
The top of mine stays light, and this one, the bottom was the darkest part of it... weird... and the bread is still that pale yellowy white rather than golden brown... But it has a nice crust and is cooked all the way through.

I DID forget to use the thermometer this time, so it maybe could have gone a bit longer, but when I thumped it, it sounded done so I pulled it (plus I wanted to go to bed)
