Any Home Bakers Here?

We had a chimney fire several years ago. LOL.  Threw the DRIED trimmings off a Christmas tree on the fireplace.  So, So embarrassing…I heard the sound, DH slipped away and called the fire dept ( we have only volunteer one).    Then DH closed the flu and all was well.  But  when they arrived…me in my jamies was so demeaning.  At least we learned our chimney even with a fire raging up could not hurt our home.  LOL.

How did your sugar cookies turn out, got me wanting to bake some.
I'd be really embarrassed....I don't wear jammies......haha....Phil

Cooking the bread in the dutch oven was amazing!

The loaf on the left is a regular loaf and the round on the right cam out of the dutch oven.

It was amazing and had a lot of bubbles:

I used the king Arthur flour tangy sourdough recipe.

I'm glad to see even Bread Master @ronott1 gets blow-outs on his loaves!
My funky looking loaves are sliced and eaten warm to hide the evidence...

The dutch oven bread looks great! Yum!

Calling all bakers!!
Any advice for making meringue cookies - my dilemma is fresh eggs or week old eggs? does it make a difference? which egg whites will whip up to the greatest heights?
How about cold or room temp? my instinct is room temp, but that may be wrong also.

I really need to use up some of these eggs...

Fresh eggs whip better and yes to room temperature eggs.

Pullet eggs will also whip better so eggs from your youngest Hens\pullets.
