Any Home Bakers Here?

Know it's not exactly baking but anyone got any favourite recipes to use up that leftover Xmas ham? I ordered a full ham to bake for Xmas lunch but now hubby has also been given another half ham. Xmas lunch is at my sisters and she ordered a half ham too thinking her kids would be home for a Christmas lunch the week before but now looks like they will make Xmas day.

I used to can up the ham with some potato's and onion when we were ready to use it I heated it with milk to make cream of ham soup.

Also Glazed hams make the best Grilled cheese sandwiches! I heat the ham in the pan then make up the Grilled cheese they are Great!

For Breakfast the kids loved Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, but I would cut them up and toss em in a loaf pan when it baked up it made like a pull apart or monkey type bread. Frost and serve. that stopped the complaints about who got more icing or who had the biggest one. Silly easy to get ready for the real task of presents and then the cooking. We do Christmas very much like Thanks giving my family has a very small choice of food range. ( I think my Chickens have more taste buds than they do).

I like to have Pumpkin Pie for breakfast I cut the sugar in half, But Pumpkin pie has more fiber than most cereals.

@appps that's a lot of ham, I can see why you're making plans for leftovers! My mom used to freeze slices of leftover ham and then pull them out as needed later on. Ham mixed in with mac & cheese is always good. x2 on the potato soup w/ham. Ham & bean soup is another option. Ham is nice for breakfast with eggs and toast. Nothing very original there, I'll see if I can think of anything else.

Now here's a Christmas Breakfast thought,

Everyone can have Gingerbread houses for Breakfast!
just use some fruit roll ups and dried fruit with the candies for Decoration

If you choose the graham cracker route, Maybe frozen/toasted waffles would work instead?

I do plan on starting my first sometime today.

Quote: I am. I think
But I have never baked Ginger bread before and I am not real handy with a frosting bag. But I was looking at the contest the other day with my daughter (I had to show off @Blooie 's entry!)
Both my DD and DGD loved your entry @NorthFLChick And Kaylee told me that is what we will do on Wednesday. (she is 4) So I am going to try my hand at baking one and maybe have some fun with Kaylee.

You'll have fun working on one with your granddaughter! And if you don't feel like baking the "house" part, you can use graham crackers or get a kit to start you off. Did you see the one @Alice28 did with her son (I think he's 5)...very cute!

I keep checking in for inspiration!

It was the pics and Story from Alice28 that made me think we could take a whack at it.

Shoot if it isn't pretty we will just eat it

and if it doesn't taste too good we can let the Chickens eat it

X2 on NFC's post on ham in mac and cheese.

I have a quiche recipe for ham and collards - if you like collards it's pretty good.

Pan braise as a breakfast meat.
