Any Home Bakers Here?

I've been looking at thrift shops for one of those dome bakers for baking bread in like Ronott uses. Would love to get one, but can't bring myself to spend the $50-80 they charge for them on ebay. If I could find one at a thrift shop for a reasonable price I would jump at the chance!
Look for a porcelain dutch oven with an metal oven safe lid. They work great too

So here we are, the day before Thanksgiving...what's everyone working on today?

I need to get a pumpkin pie made and maybe something else (not sure).
First, I'm working on my cup of coffee :caf . Once I wake up awhile, I'm going to make the pumpkin pies, apple dessert, and the cranberry sauce. Hubs picked up the last few items I needed on his way home from work last night. I only needed 12 oz. of cranberries, but he bought me a 2 lb. bag! Luckily, cranberries freeze very well, so I'll just freeze some for another time.
Oh, and Hubs started the turkey brining last night (his annual contribution to Thanksgiving dinner!) Yum! I'm anxious to get started!

Here are the sugar cookies (remember I said I was not a decorator). I used my turkey cookie cutter but by the time I got done with them, they kind of looked more like Orpingtons,

CREAM CHEESE COOKIES
16 Tab (8 oz) unsalted butter, softened

Overall, not a bad cookie. I can't say it was the very best cookie ever, but will do for a sugar cookie.

Chocolate frizzled Orpingtons!

Working on coffee here also. Going to a local farm to pick up two fresh turkeys today. First time to be able to purchase turkeys that I've been able to see grazing. I won't raise turkeys for food, because they would end up being pets.
What kind are you getting and how old? Heritage birds require low and slow cooking.
