View attachment 1328400 View attachment 1328399 Made homemade butter today and bread :yesss:(I cheated using a bread maker ;)) but the butter was super easy to make. I seasoned it with salt and put it in a spare clover tub I had in the cupboard! I love uncut bread so I can cut it doorstop style for beans and toast haha.

I’m sure it’s probably already on here but just in case; butter was made from two 600ml pots of British double cream, whisked until the ‘milk’ separated from the butter, then the milk was drained. I washed the butter in cold water till the water ran clear and then pressed the remaining water out of the butter using spoons :)

Gracie, I don't believe I've seen anyone share how they do butter on this thread, so thank you for sharing!

trying to gather ideas for dinner hmmm think the freezer is calling me
tonight I am making:

Coffee and Sugar crusted Skirt Steak
Ingredients
 1/4 c. finely ground espresso coffee (not instant)
 1/4 c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
 1 1/2 tsp. Kosher salt
 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
 1/8 tsp. ground ginger
 1/8 tsp. ground white pepper
 1/8 tsp. five-spice powder
 Pinch cayenne pepper
 2 1/2 lb. skirt steak, cut into 4 pieces
 1 tbsp. olive oil
Directions
1. Heat grill to high.
2. Combine coffee, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, white pepper, five-spice powder, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
3. Remove steak from refrigerator and let come to room temperature, about 15 minutes. Rub steak with oil, and sprinkle with rub. Massage rub into meat.
4. Grill until charred and medium-rare, 2 to 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a cutting board, cover with foil and let rest 5 minutes before thinly slicing at an angle. Serve immediately.

sure sounds good know I would love it and BF would know Son would not like the coffee taste the other spice I have started marinating most our meats not sure why I didn't before and use all different spices with a bit of oil
Things don't always taste like you think they would based on the ingredients. I make a steak that is completely smothered with cracked black peppercorns. Based on all the pepper on it you might think it would be hot to the taste but it isn't.
