Any Home Bakers Here?

Going to someone else's for Thanksgiving. I did make some sourdough pumpkin muffins. I forgot to put the salt in but they turned out good. What does the salt do? I did make some sourdough banana bread but remembered the salt in it and an apple pie for hubby.

Swedish Tea Ring
4 C flour
2 large eggs (beat with fork)
2 pkg yeast (4 1/2 tsp)
1 cup warm water
1/2 c melted butter (warm)
1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp cardamon 1 tsp salt
Mix in mixer (like bread dough). place in an oiled bowl ...cover
and place in refrigerator 2 hours (or sometime that day convenient
for you to shape. Place on floured surface and roll 20-24 inches
round. 1/2 cup sugar 1 T cinnamon....sprinkle all over surface...
roll tightly (start near you)....join ends together. Place on parchment paper and cookie sheet. Cut all around (about 3/4 ..
not all the way and twist each piece) with a scissors. Warm
place to rise (double) about 1 hour. Bake 375 oven 20 minutes.
Frost: about 1 cup confection sugar 2 T coffee or milk 1/2 tsp
vanilla, 1/2 tsp almond extract. Frost Don't know how it tastes
this is the first time I tried this recipe.

I made it to Portland, it was an 8 hour drive due to snow. I made it in around 7 my time. Portland's an hour behind. I am still getting used to the time difference

until I joined this SUPER GROUP. Learned a lot and made some
