Any Home Bakers Here?

Now the Nuts tracking says it will be here tomorrow.

Made 2 loaves of KA Basic sourdough. Did them as one batch, the mixer didn't seem too happy. Probably will do two single recipes if I make two loaves in one day again. The starter also seemed somewhat runny so I didn't put much extra water in, recipe says .5 cup per loaf. Since I've made it a few times before I guess I have a fairly decent idea of how it should look and feel before rising and it does look like it came out well.

Gluten intolerant DD1 and her BF are going to show up from Canada Friday or Saturday which means no more gluten bread baking until they leave (whenever that is). Going to AGAIN attempt a Champlain, putting stuff together tonight. Hopefully I'll recognize "proper consistency" this time around so I don't have to kill it by adding flour after all the "folds".

Nice that your DD and her BF are coming for a visit Bruce!

I have to wait on shipping for chocolate items-- no way to ship stuff like that here. It will melt by 10am
Really? My order had fudge in it and they put in some freezer packs. It was fine and we've been 110+

Whoa, 110+ :th

We were in the mid 80's yesterday and I thought I was melting.
It is a comfortable 72°F here inside the house but it is already 90°F in the greenhouse. Yesterday it was 110°F in there.

I don't worry about the mixer unless it thermal overloads and turns off!

My 6qt has not done that yet

Did they charge extra for one day shipping and the ice packs? We are very far from their warehouse here

No thanks cooler here today maybe low 80's doing second cup of coffee will make choices after that
Today is the hottest day of our current heat wave. It has been 100 to 102F since Monday for a high. Today is supposed to be 104 as of Yesterday.
