Any Home Bakers Here?

my mom bakes. she used to work at round table so she has a few extra recipes! :D

Welcome to Home Bakers thread.

We just moved into our new house, so I am washing every single dish (mostly because they've been in storage for 2 years). Tonight, they should all be clean, dry, and put away, and then, I hope to make brownies. And I really should feed Carly to get ready to make a loaf of bread.
I bought a thick, anti-fatigue kitchen mat yesterday, but my knees, feet, and back are feeling it today (hence the BYC break).

Take it easy.

This is day one with many more to complete.

The all look good!

You could get them more uniform by weighing them to make sure they are all the same weight.

Stuff like that only matters for a competition though. Of course for a competition, you would bake until you got a perfect loaf to get that blue ribbon!

Im not a competitive baker. My grandpa was a pro chef. He taught me that “if it looks good, it will taste good.”

I try to make things I bake look good as well as taste good.

I think I’ll try weighing it next time like you said, to make them more even.

Yes, they're baked! Here's the donut recipe: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/baked-doughnuts-three-ways-recipe

and the chocolate glaze: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/three-easy-doughnut-glazes-recipe

For the cinnamon sugar, I used 1/4 c cinnamon to 1 c granulated sugar.
Thanks for sharing 😉

My sister in on vacation in Alaska - and woke up this morning to a 8.2 earthquake! She thought her husband was outside the camper jumping on it to scare her. BTW, they have been evacuated to higher ground and are fine.
Glad they are okay and evacuated , that's scary!!
