Feeling a little better today. Yesterday was kind of chaotic.

Yes we do get hurricanes.

I have lived in tornado alley.

I would rather have a hurricane than a tornado any day.

At least we know when the hurricane is arriving where the tornado just shows up without any warning.

We get atmospheric rivers here!

What is an atmospheric river?

They used to call them pineapple express storms. Warm tropical air mixes with cold arctic air brining a lot of moisture in a stream across the area. The claim is that some of these bands contain an amount of water equal to the Mississippi river.

We had one that came over us last Saturday that dropped over 5 inches of rain for Sacramento in one day. It is a record for rain in a day. Last year our entire rainy season was about 12 inches of rain.

I saw some low fog in the fields this morning-- it is called Tule Fog here.
It is sunny with blue skies currently though.
