Any Home Bakers Here?

Because it never gets cold enough to need heat given it warms up in the morning even if it is cool overnight. Passive heating and cooling should work well there especially if one has double pane windows and good insulation

You sure did, WOW!

Now or, generally, ever sadly.
Normally we get rain from November to March. We are in the middle of a more than 5 year drought here. Further south is is more like a 15 to 20 year drought.

This year will likely be like last year for us due to this being another La Nina weather pattern year.

I have been busy in the kitchen - at least a little bit.
A week ago, I made Sandwich Bread - hadn't made that recipe for over 8 years, forgot how good it is. Need to make another batch tomorrow morning.
I canned peaches - 14 pints of slices and 12 jelly jars of Peach Comfort sauce.
And the spice cake for my dad's birthday was very tasty. Not very pretty as the Italian Meringue didn't beat to stiff peaks and sorta slowely slid down the side of the cake. By the time we got to my parents' house, the top layer had slid sideways 1/4 of the way off the bottom layer - I used a butter knife to gently push it back into place. At least my mom was really the only one to actually see it - everyone else was visiting in the living room when I cut it and passed out pieces. The slices looked good! lol
I will definately make the cake again, but I will make it as cupcakes with a custard filling.

In total, the cake recipe uses 6 cups of sugar! No wonder it is my dad's favorite, he has a tremendous sweet tooth, lol. It has 2 cups brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar in just the cake batter alone.

Jared the picture of Saturn is very good.

Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.

I actually don’t know how I’m getting such good photos when I’m going OVER the highest useful magnification of my telescope.

My telescope is an 80 mm, 900 mm focal length refractor. This means that my highest useful magnification is about 160x. I have been taking these photos at 540x.

I do not know how, but I am getting decent results.

I process the videos through two different stacking programs, to get them looking good like this.

Someone’s got to stop me, before I do this too much and get addicted.

@ronott1, help!!!

My jar of yogurt for starter grew some mold. The tall, fluffy kind. I scraped it off, used the rest to make yogurt anyway. It was delicious. I saved my usual cup or so of starter (in a clean jar) and it grew mold again, in less than two weeks. I scraped the mold off and used the rest to make another batch of yogurt, and everything seems fine. I haven't eaten any yet, as it's still draining off some whey.

But, why is it growing mold in a clean jar in the fridge?

The stuff I mix with honey for eating doesn't do this. I know honey has antibacterial properties. Maybe I should have some honey in my starter culture?
