thanks for the recip!Did some more baking today. ANGEL WINGS.
There are 2 ways to make. Deep fry in oil,,, or Bake in oven. I chose to bake.
Maiden Voyage for this recipe for me,, so I followed it exactly.
Here are the ingredients.
250G Flour. ( I used 450 cake flour)
75G Sour Cream
4 egg yolks, (my eggs were large+ from my hens)
1 shot glass of Vodka
Pinch of salt.
Powdered sugar for dusting on top after baking.
Baked in oven @375°F for 10 minutes Center rack.
Play by play.
I used scale to keep things exact, as per recipe instructions.
Flour.

Shot glass of Vodka. That is a large oversize glass. I only filled ½ for about 1 ounce.
If you don't have Vodka, other alcohol beverages would also work. (Rum, Scotch, etc.,) Not wine or beer(would need a larger quantity, and would overhydrate dough in the amounts of flour recipe call for)

I ground in and added a pinch of salt.

Egg yolks, sour cream, Vodka, salt, and ½ of my flour contents into mixing bowl. First step mixing to incorporate all things well. Then add remaining flour, and let mixer knead on 1st slow speed.

This is how dough turned out after a few minutes kneading, using dough hook.

Now the heavy duty labor by hand. I kept kneading by hand for about 5 minutes. Dough got nice and smooth, and I did not add any flour to board. Note, that dough is not sticking to board or my hand.

Now rolling out. I kept removing dough from board, and flipping as I kept rolling it ever so thinner each time.

Thin enough. Note this is half of my dough quantity I worked rolling at a time.
Salt shaker for size comparison purpose only.

Used pizza cutter to make strips, and slits

I flipped, inverted to create the shapes on parchment lined pan. Note, the second portion of dough in top of photo, waiting for same process.

Out of oven after 10 minutes baking. Note that they are somewhat puffed up. There is no yeast or baking powder in dough. My understanding, the Vodka helped in the rising/puffing of the dough.
The small amount of alcohol present in dough all evaporates during the cooking/baking process. You will NOT get a BUZZZZZ

Transferred to cooling rack, and dusted with powdered sugar while still hot out of oven. I turned over and did both sides.

Notes.
I chose to bake instead of oil fry.
To oil fry, make exactly the same, just place into oil in deep-fryer (about) @350°F oil temp. The Wings will fry up instantly, (float to top) after 1 minute or less , flip over and fry other side, Then remove to paper towel lined dish. If fried too long, the Wings get a darker tan. (not desired)
There is no sugar added into dough. All the sweetness is from the powdered sugar dusting.
It tastes good to us. Remember, that if not dusted with powdered sugar, there is no sweetness at all.@cavemanrich beautiful looking how is the taste ?
I copied the recipe will have to buy one store here has the little airline bottles of booze.

We have no booze in the house.
I make the whole recipe into rounds and freeze them.I baked chocolate chip cookies today, standard Toll House recipe. We usually make a double batch, bake a couple dozen, shape the rest into balls and flash-freeze them. Then store in zip bags so we can bake a batch on short notice. Just place on pans and let set for half an hour, turn oven on. Flatten with hand then bake. We bake 4 minutes, rotate pans and switch from top to bottom racks, then bake 4 more minutes. Remove from oven but leave on pans 5 minutes. Finish cooling on racks. Parchment paper or silpat mats are your friends!
